Overview

The functions of the O155-4 card,

  • Provide 4×STM-1 optical interfaces.

  • Perform O/E & E/O conversion and clock extraction & integration.

  • Possess transmitting & receiving optical power detection function.

  • Support laser automatic shutdown function and hot plug function of the optical module.

  • Provide monitor function for higher order path overhead (J1, B3, C2 and G1).

  • Monitor main alarms of section layer and report the result to XCU card as switching criteria for MS protection.

  • Implement pointer interpretation and justification in aggregate drop direction, and report the state of each AU-4 signal to XCU card as switching criteria for path protection.

  • Support seamless switching between working and protection XCU cards.

  • Support line loop back and equipment loop back.

  • Support receiving and transmitting optical power report.

  • Support remote on-line upgrading of FPGA and BCT software.

  • STM-1 optical interface supports several modes including S-1.1, L-1.1 and L-1.2 by changing optical module.
